These volumes are a treasure house of history of the people who settled the Cimarron Valley from Guthrie to Oilton, and their descendants.
 These two books contain nearly 900 pages of Payne County and area history; over 600 family histories, more than 1100 historic photographs, 300 pages of general history of the area. Volume II features the most complete collection of historic articles about the gun battle fought in historic Ingalls, and Vol. I features lengthy histories of Coyle, Ripley, Tryon and Carney.
